We are a passionate collaborative design studio that imagines and realizes beautiful, sustainable landscapes.

For over 40 years, Janet Rosenberg & Studio (JRS) has created stunning landscapes and intelligent urban spaces that have significantly advanced the landscape architecture profession in Canada. Our pioneering standard for design excellence combines impactful horticultural design, diverse materials, and thoughtful composition, with a strong commitment to sustainability and a sophisticated cross-disciplinary approach to large urban projects.

Founded in 1983 by Janet Rosenberg, JRS is a certified WBE Canada Diverse Supplier that has grown into one of Canada’s largest and most influential Landscape Architecture & Urban Design practices. The recipient of numerous awards and a breeding ground for next-generation designers of unparalleled calibre, JRS is recognized for its extensive and award-winning portfolio of work that includes public, commercial, and institutional spaces as well as private residential gardens, green roofs, and condominium towers. Through a commitment to four key design drivers – holistic and collaborative approaches, resilient and responsive solutions, high-performance design, and placemaking and wellness – we strive to design spaces for people that are beautiful, functional, and resilient.

With four principals and over 25 landscape architects, urban designers, and horticulturists, our team has broad collective experience working on complex projects with large integrated consultant teams and diverse stakeholders. Based out of our studio in midtown Toronto, we provide full consulting services from master planning and design through construction documents and contract administration.

Janet Rosenberg & Studio brings a collaborative and innovative approach to work in both the private and public realm.
